Brachioplasty

Arm lift, also known as Brachioplasty, removes excess skin and fat (also called ‘bat wings’ ) from the upper arm. Scars are hidden on the inside of the arm and in the arm pit. The procedure is done as an outpatient and recovery is 1-2 weeks for light activities and 4-6 weeks to normal activities. Compression garments are sometimes used to minimize post-operative swelling. For larger resections drains are used to collect excess fluid. Drains are removed 2-7 days post-operatively. Secondary scar revisions are necessary on occasion for thickened scars which can develop in the upper arm and arm pit.
