With time, aging and stress, the forehead can develop deep, horizontal and vertical lines as well as heavy, sagging eyebrows. These changes can make a person look older and more tired than they feel, and convey unintended emotions like anger and aggression. An Endoscopic browlift provides a more refreshed appearance by smoothing the forehead reducing frown lines, and elevating the brow. In some cases, the procedure can also raise sagging upper eyelids.
Dr. Fealy is an expert in the use of the Endoscope, a surgical system that allows him to use small incisions and use a small camera to see under the skin while he works. Specialized thin instruments are used to perform the procedure.
The Endoscope is an advance because it removes the need for one long incision. Instead, three to five incisions less than an inch long are made to accommodate the small instruments. One instrument, the ‘scope’, carries a tiny camera and light; the surgeon sees what he is doing by watching his movements on a television monitor. With the Endoscopic technique, the doctor lifts the forehead skin and supporting tissues, makes the necessary alterations and then fixes the tissues to the bone in a higher position. Most patients return to their usual routines in five to 10 days.
